8vo. 7.5 x 5 inches. [viii] + 191 + [1] pp. + [2] pp. publisher's note on text tipped in. Bound in imitation vellum, gilt, with gilt titles, in price clipped dust wrapper, which has sunned spine. Deckled edges. A little wear to extremities, including corners and head and tail of spine, but otherwise a very good copy. Dedication to King George V engraved by Eric Gill. Decorated by publisher's device on title page. 'Robert Bridges was a classicist. His experimentation with 18th-century classical forms culminated in The Testament of Beauty, generally acknowledged as his masterpiece.' (Robert Bridges. The Poetry Foundation website). Reprint of the first edition of 1929. Robert Bridges (1844-1930) was Poet Laureate 1913-30. A handsome edition with dedication engraved by Eric Gill.
