A little wear to extremities, browning of flyleaves and scattered foxing mostly confined to edges; otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by portrait frontispiece and by text figures. This story of a yacht called The Southseaman built for the author in the port of Shelburne, Nova Scotia ('Sheldon'). Joseph Weston Martyr (1885-1966) was a pioneer ocean yachtsman, writer and broadcaster, who was influential in the creation of the Fastnet race in 1925. First serialised in Yachting World and published in book form in 1926, with a Penguin edition appearing in 1939. Inscription on first free endpaper states ''Bomber' Harris, copy.
