4to. 10.5 x 8 inches. viii + 203 + [1] pp. Bound in original green cloth, gilt, with decorative block on front board, in unclipped pictorial dust wrapper, which has sunned spine. A little sunning of board edges and light foxing of front flyleaves and half title; otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated throughout by black and white photographs. Title pages decorated by publisher's device and by colour photographs. A depiction in photographs of the hill tribes of Thailand, who are unrelated to the Thai, based on the author's photographs. They include hill people from China, forest dwellers now living in narrow valleys or low wooded hills, aborigines from the Malay Peninsula and a small group of primitive forest dwellers.
