8vo. 8 x 5.5 inches. xxviii + 277 pp. + [2] pp. publisher's advertisements. Bound in original dark green cloth, gilt, with gilt block of fly on spine. Rough cut edges. Extremities worn including corners and head and tail of spine. A little foxing of edges and flyleaves, but otherwise a very good copy. 1950 inscription on first free endpaper. Illustrated by 7 colour plates from landscape paintings and by colour frontispiece of natural flies with captioned tissue guard. Discussion of the techniques of fly fishing by George Albemarle Bertie Dewar (1862-1934). Revised second edition first published 1897.
