FIRST EDITION. 8vo. 8.75 x 5.75 inches. 57 pp. Bound in quarter blue cloth, gilt, over grey boards, in price-clipped dust wrapper. Slight wear at head and tail of spine, but otherwise a very good copy. A collection of Auden's poems, written 1972-73, including his last work, Archaeology, and published after his death in 1973. It also includes poems relating to the themes of language, philosophy and science; two lyrics from an unfinished musical version of Don Quixote, and an 'antimasque' by Auden and Chester Kallman.
