Tall 8vo. 9.75 x 6 inches. In cloth spine over stiff card wrapper with red titles. Extremities worn, including edges, corners and head and tail of spine. Front hinge starting to crack, but otherwise a very good clean copy. Southport ownership stamp, 1938 on first free endpaper. Illustrated by septa photographs, including frontispiece and by maps and tables in red and black. Interwar edition of the motorists guide to British inns and hotels and their amenities. The title was published from 1935 TO 1972 (except 1941-45), and as the Signpost Colour Hotel Guide to 1982 (see also David W. Gutzke, 'The Life and Death of the Interwar Roadhouse,' Brewery History Society, 2017, available online).
