Bound in red morocco, gilt bands and spine decoration and decorative gilt borders to boards and gilt edges. Some wear to spine and boards consistent with age. Good internally with some foxing and stains. Tear to lower part of Y1-2, but no loss of paper. Early ink inscription, Mr. Huskinson Whitehall, on first free endpaper, ink marks on rear paste-down and occasional pencil annotations.

Notes
The British Imperial Calendar was produced under that title by a number of compilers, from 1809-1866. From 1867 it became the British Imperial Calendar and Civil Service List and was issued under that name by HMSO as late as 1973.
This edition combines four different publications, with separate title pages and pagination which are bound together. Ridder's British Merlin is a daily calendar with notes on expected weather, planting advice and health maxims and also contains a comprehensive list of fairs. The Companion is principally an alphabetical index to the Calendar proper which follows with membership lists of both houses of parliament, of army and naval officers and of the ships of the fleet and office holders in England, Scotland and Ireland. The New Companion supplies further details of all changes in membership of the Commons and office holders since 1760.
