A very good clean copy. Illustrated by 12 plates, including 3 folding, by 19 text figures and by tables. The cyanide process is a hydrometallurgical technique used to dissolve gold in an aqueous solution of cyanide to extract gold and silver from low-grade ore. Cyanidation was first used on the Rand of South Africa in 1890 and in the US in 1891. This detailed study examines the practical applications of the process in these two countries and also in Australia, New Zealand and India. It describes the construction and operation of a cyanide works and the methodology of treating the gold ores.
