Small 8vo. 6.75 x 4.25 inches. xiv + [ii] + 98 + [1] pp. Series title and title page in red and black Bound in original navy cloth, gilt, with series title block within architectural frame on front boards. Top edge gilt. Rough cut edges. Many pages uncut. Slight wear to extremities and foxing of flyleaves and fore edge, occasional elsewhere; otherwise a very good copy. Pictorial bookplate of Joseph and Edith Freeman, Crockham Hill (Kent). Illustrated by vignette title within borders, frontispiece, protected by tissue guard, and by 15 text engravings, including full page. Decorated by series page device. History of New College, Oxford, a volume in Dent's attractive College Monographs series. By Arthur Octavius Prickard (1843-1939), former Fellow of the College. Illustrated by Edmund Hort New (1871-1931), artist and illustrator, whose work appeared in many books of this period. He moved to Oxford in 1905 to start a project to draw the colleges.
