8vo. 8.75 x 5.75 inches. 80 pp. Bound in original maroon cloth, gilt, in price clipped pictorial dust wrapper, which has lightly sunned edges and small neatly repaired tear on rear wrapper. A few traces of foxing, but otherwise a very good copy. Bookplate. Illustrated by 57 captioned plates, including frontispiece and by three text figures. Well illustrated historical account of naval swords depicting both the weapons themselves (Including cutlasses, dirks, small and presentation swords) and their officer wearers. By Philip Geoffrey Walter Annis (b.1936), who was in charge of the collection of naval edged weapons at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich.
