FIRST EDITION. Large 8vo. 9.5 x 6.25 inches. xi + [i] + 612 pp. Bound in original black cloth, gilt, in unclipped pictorial dust wrapper. Minor wear to lower board edges, but otherwise very good copy. Illustrated by 16 pages of photographic plates and by facsimile following title page. Decorated by publisher's device on title page. A sequel to the first volume of the autobiography, A Life in Movies (1986), by film director, Michael Powell (1905-90), who worked in a notable partnership with Emeric Pressburger, their films produced by The Archers company, until 1957. Post-war films included A Matter of Life and Death (1946), Black Narcissus (1947), The Red Shoes (1948), Gone to Earth and The Elusive Pimpernel (both 1950), The Tales of Hoffman (1951), The Battle of the River Plate (1956) and Ill Met by Moonlight (1957). Powell made Peeping Tom (1960), which was controversial at the time, on his own.
