8vo. 7.25 x 5 inches. xv + [i] + 205 + 1] + [2] pp. Lockwood's Manuals list + xv + [i] pp. repeat of preliminaries with Crosby Lockwood imprint 1926 + [8] pp. Technical Press publications list. Bound in original red cloth with black titles. A little wear and staining of extremities and foxing of flyleaves; otherwise a very good copy. Signature on front pastedown and at head of title. Illustrated by frontispiece photograph, by 168 text figures and 22 tables. Decorated by publisher's device on title page. Manual on the techniques of machine tool design and manufacture. The imprint status of this title is unclear. Either Crosby Lockwood, a well established publisher of technical manuals since the early/mid nineteenth century had changed its name to the Technical Press, or a firm of this name had taken over the old company. In any event, the change appears to have been short lived with the Crosby Lockwood imprint continuing into recent times. In any event a scarce title today.
