4to. 11 x 9 inches. xiv + 239 + [1] pp.+ [1] pp. publisher's advertisement. Title page in red and black. Bound in original light brown cloth, gilt. Rough cut edges. Top edge gilt. A little wear to extremities. Flyleaves and light scattered foxing; otherwise a very good copy. Pictorial bookplate. Loosely enclosed: pictorial single sheet printed Christmas card from author dated 1936. Illustrated by frontispiece and and by 68 pages of black and white plates, numbered in text and by title page and endpiece vignettes. A record of London's lost and threatened buildings illustrated with the artwork of Hanslip Fletcher (1874-1955), water colour painter and graphic artist, who had a particular interest in the architecture of the city. It includes notes on the sixty nine structures by other named contributors. Includes a copy of the author's personalised Christmas card for 1936.
