Spine sunned with with wear and small chips at head and tail. Light foxing and browning of flyleaves and title page, but otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by black and white photographs, 242 numbered text figures and by 22 footplate photographs and diagrams in Appendix. Well illustrated technical manual on the maintenance and operation of railway locomotives. By James Thomas Hodgson (1867-1939), revised by Charles Sidney Lake (1872-1942), railway engineer and journalist on the Railway Gazette (Grace's Guide website). First published in 1909, the title appeared in ten editions to 1954.
