Ownership inscription on first free endpaper. Illustrated by 9 black and white plates, including frontispiece, numbered and text and by numerous text figures, including whole page A collection of essays by John Farleigh (1900-65), graphic artist, wood engraver and illustrator and teacher, whose art was widely exhibited. Well illustrated by numerous examples of his work (Selborne, British Wood-Engraved Book Illustration 1904-1949).
