8vo. 7.75 x 5.25 inches. xvi + [ii] + 380 pp. Bound in original green cloth, gilt, with gilt block of series title. Extremities worn with chips at head and tail of spine. Front hinge starting to crack, pages a little browned and some scattered foxing; otherwise a very good copy. Some pencil lines in margins. Illustrated by portrait frontispiece, by 56 black and white photographic plates and text figures, including folding, and by 2 letterpress blocks. Well illustrated detailed account of hockey with four parts, Historical, Practical, Hockey for Women and 8 appendices of results, rules and list of clubs. A scarce title in the Isthmian Library series.
