8vo. 9.75 x 5.75 inches. vii + [i] + 152 pp. Bound in original red cloth, gilt, in unclipped dust wrapper, with edge wear, including chips at head and tail of spine which is sunned. A little wear to extremities, but otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by two plates, including portrait frontispiece. Account of the philosophy of Johann Gottfried Herder (1744-1803), by Alexander Gillies, who was Head of the Department of German, University College, Hull.
