A little wear to extremities and darkening of top edge; otherwise a very good copy. Decorated by publisher's device on title page. Account of childhood life in the East End of London during the early twentieth century, by Louis Heren (1919-95), journalist. His father was a printer on The Times and Heren worked his way up on that paper to become a foreign correspondent, before serving as Deputy Editor, 1973-81.
