Small 8vo. 6.5 x 4.5 inches. [iv] + 72 + 40 + 120 + 16 pp. publisher's catalogue with series list. Title pages in red and black. Facsimiles of original title pages. Bound in original dark green cloth, gilt,boards with bevelled edges and blind stamped decorative borders. All edges red. Wear to extremities, including head and tail of spine. Some foxing throughout; otherwise a very good copy. Decorated by vignettes. Three titles originally appearing 1590-1689, in the thirty volume English Reprints series, published 1868-71 and edited by Edward Arber (1836-1912), academic scholar, writer and editor. The series provided accessible editions of many texts not previously available to less wealthy buyers. The three authors in this volume are Sir Philip Sidney (1554-86), Edward Webbe (c.1553-54-), author of an early Middle Eastern travel narrative and John Selden (1584-1654), jurist, antiquarian and scholar of the Near East.
