8vo. 8.5 x 6.75 inches. 317 + [1] pp. Bound in decorated green cloth with black titles. Top edge gilt. Extremities worn, including front board, corners and loss at head and tail of spine. Hinges starting to crack, flyleaves browned and scattered foxing largely confined to margins; otherwise a good copy. Inscription, 'To my dear old sister, Martha from 'Rachel Penn,' on verso of first free endpaper. Illustrated by frontispiece plate and 4 full page illustrations numbered in text and by text figures and chapter heading vignettes. Decorated by tile and contents pages vignettes. Fairy story by Rachel Penn, with joint illustrator, artist Maude Frances Sambourne (1875-1960).
