Item Description

10 x 7 inches. This watercolour came from an unbound portfolio of watercolour paintings, all by Reverend George Ernest Howman (c. 1797 - 1878), who lived at Newbold Pacey Hall in Warwickshire. His fame rests on his iconic reconstruction drawing of the Dimorphodon discovered in 1828 by Mary Anning in the cliffs at Lyme Regis. (Dimorphodon is a type of small Pterodactyl.)
