8vo. 6.5 x 4.5 inches. viii + 155 pp. + 128 pp. advertisements. Bound in original black cloth, gilt, with gilt series and title in gilt roundel on front board. Extremities a little worn, front hinge starting to crack, small missing corner to lower edge of first free endpaper and some neat repairs to maps, etc.; otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by 2 wood engravings, including frontispiece, by 2 maps, one folding of county and by 6 plans, 3 folding. Sketch map front endpaper, series list rear. Twelfth edition, 1892, of Black's Guide to Hampshire, first published in this format in 1872, and continuing in later editions at least until 1927.
