Oblong 8vo. 7 x 8.75 inches. 118 pp. Bound in pictorial stiff white boards with black titles, in matching dust wrapper. A fine copy. Illustrated throughout in black and white and colour, including frontispiece. An account of the Contemporary Lithographs pioneering scheme to take good quality prints into schools in 1937-38. It was set up by Robert Wellington (1910-90) of Zwemmer's Art Gallery, London and the artist, John Piper (1903-92). The book reproduces the twenty five lithographs selected for the project with notes on the artists, who included Piper himself, Eric Ravilious, the Nash Brothers, Edward Bawden and Graham Sutherland.
