Oblong 8vo. 7 x 8.75 inches. 118 pp. Bound in pictorial stiff white boards with black titles, in matching dust wrapper. A fine copy. Illustrated throughout in black and white and colour, including frontispiece. An account of the Contemporary Lithographs pioneering scheme to take good quality prints into schools in 1937-38. It was set up by Robert Wellington (1910-90) of Zwemmer's Art Gallery, London and the artist, John Piper (1903-92). The book reproduces the twenty five lithographs selected for the project with notes on the artists, who included Piper himself, Eric Ravilious, the Nash Brothers, Edward Bawden and Graham Sutherland. First published by Artmonsky Arts in 2007.
