Large 8vo. 9.5x 7.5 inches. xvi + 334 pp. in pictorial card wrapper, which has edge wear. Occasional traces of foxing and an instance of ink margin lines in first chapter; otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by 12 pages of black and white plates with extended captions, by 99 full page shoe drawings by author with captions opposite and by costume drawings by Gay Lloyd. A well illustrated history of shoe fashions in Britain, by Eunice Wilson (1921-2021), a consultant to the shoe and leather industries, who advocated the use of coloured leather (psadfriends.org.uk website). The hardback edition was first published in 1969.
